Brief Description: The staircase design is in the University of Cape Town’s New Lecture Theatre Building. The base consists of a concrete slab with timber slats. The staircase consists of a steel stringer attached to a tempered glass balustrade and stainless-steel hand rail. This is all combined with stainless steel brackets. The steel treads are welded and attached using connector expansion bolts. Lastly the foot of the staircase is attached to the base using steel angles and expansion bolts.
