Amphitheatre Roof Structure

I designed a barrel vault roof structure that would be constructed from reinforced concrete with a timber formwork. An alternative would be using a traditional clay work method. I was inspired by the shell of an armadillo as well as the precedent study of the Bosjes Chapel located in Breederiver Valley, South Africa. I wanted to experiment with something new when it came to the design of the roof structure. Although not all structural elements are resolved, I had a fun time creating this conceptual model.
